Of course, you all know that I love shooting birds. It’s what I do and I’m very happy doing it. But this trip to Lake Martin gave me a chance to photograph birds with some very beautiful backgrounds. As always, click on the images to enlarge
Early morning
This is what you see when you first leave the boat slip in the morning. Quiet, peaceful, with an otherworldly look to it. Soon you’ll be immersed in these trees.
Early morning brings deep dark backgrounds, almost like a reverse silhouette
But the sun soon casts a warm red glow to the landscape and the birds are hungry!
Snack!
The sense of calm never seems to leave the Cypress swamp, even though life and death is all around us. The circle of life and death is on full display here.
Calm before the storm
Through it all, I am amazed by the backgrounds and the textures to these images.
