Last week I was showing you images of a family of Wood Ducks with 8 little ones. Unfortunately nature does not exist in a vacuum and it wasn’t long before the family group got smaller, and smaller, and yet smaller. Now all that is left of the 8 ducklings is these 3 little ones. Tough lessons at such a young age….
That same morning there was a Black Crowned Night Heron that perched himself off to my right and had no intention of moving. I sat there for over an hour waiting for him to move but he had more patience than I did. Sometimes you just can’t get it to come out right no matter how hard you try! It’s just part of the learning curve…..
And on my way out of the wetland I came across an immature Blue Heron. They begin life as an all white bird and then gradually turn all blue as they mature. Beautiful!!!!
